Working with a number of leading landscape architecture firms in Australia, and with my humanist storytelling values, I developed a strong interest in designs which genuinely respond to the deep needs of the people who will inhabit them - while at the same time creating space for new, healthier narratives. Then on completion, how it is that projects are given their meaning through the presence of people. It’s through this human activation that architecture comes alive and achieves its true sense of place. In a purely pictorial sense, showing people interacting with the space can give the viewer a way in, encouraging them to imagine themselves in the environment as well, stimulating imagination and connection.
